OPPSTAR TECHNOLOGY SIGNS MOA & MOU WITH UNIVERSITI TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN (UTAR)

Oppstar Technology and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) signed MoA & MoU on Monday, 7th March. The agreements were signed by UTAR President Ir. Prof. Dr. Ewe Hong Tat and Oppstar CTO Mr. Cheah Hun Wah.


These agreements define the frame for future long term IC design alliance between UTAR and Oppstar. The goal of this strategic partnership is to cultivate and grow a sustainable talent pipeline for the IC design and semiconductor sector.


Oppstar represented by CEO Mr. Ng Meng Thai, CTO Mr. Cheah Hun Wah and CFO Mr. Chin Fung Wei, paid a visit to UTAR Sungai Long Campus and they were welcomed by UTAR President Ir. Prof. Dr. Ewe Hong Tat, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Dean Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Yap Wun She, LKC FES Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Lee Kim Yee, LKC FES Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Head Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Chang Yoong Choon, Division of Community and International Networking Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Soon Onn, LKC FES lecturer Dr. Khaw Mei Kum and staff.


Also joining from UTAR Kampar Campus via video conference were Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT) Dean Ir. Prof. Dr. Ng Choon Aun, FEGT Department of Electronic Engineering Head Dr. Lee Yu Jen, FEGT Department of Consultancy and Commercialization Head Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr Teh Peh Chiong, and FEGT lecturers Ir. Dr. Loh Siu Hong and Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr Yeap Kim Ho.


The meeting commenced with both parties walked through respective corporate profile and updates, followed by in-depth exchanges on potential industry-academia collaboration in the likes of IC design alliance, Work-Based Learning Programme, joint R&D as well as industrial placement. The event ended with MoA & MoU signing ceremony and souvenir exchange.
